G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Grantland 30 For 30 short is tremendously satisfying. See what Ronn Reynolds looks like in the 21st century!Only nitpick: strange decision to use footage from '73 WS (Millan error, Willie pleading on Buddy's behalf) to represent the Mets going downhill in the '70s. Huh?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Are they suggesting that losing that World Series was the beginning of the end? I think that more appropriate footage to show would be Joan Payson's funeral.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I think they just went with whatever fit the moment in the film. They also used Doc from somewhere between 1988 and 1992 when they talked about him as a rookie. The only people who'd notice this stuff are, as usual, the people who appreciate this kind of film the most in the first place.
