Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Someday you'll be watching Logan Verrett pitch in a game. He won't be great, but he'll be solid. And you'll wonder how the Mets let him go. And you'll remember how tight the team's roster pinch was at the time, and they must've said to themselves, "We'd hate to lose Verrett, but Tyler Pill is practically the same guy, only at Bingo. Got his wildness from 2013 under control too."And you'll think, "That more or less makes sense. You can't keep everybody. That Pill guy is darn good."I'm Tyler Pill.I've got 1 1/3 inning of shutout ball logged in camp so far and, well, they haven't farmed me out yet. What do you think I have to offer in 2015?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Tyler Pill has a mediocre run with Las Vegas that is really better than mediocre when you take into account that Las Vegas is Las Vegas and he gets better throughout the season. But he gets no call-ups.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Proves he is a good "organization filler". He has a good year at Las Vegas considering it's, y'know, Las Vegas, but doesn't show enough to be called up ahead of the more highly touted prospects. Maybe next year. But while he's still training with the big club, (channeling Fmann) I can just see Daniel Murphy nervously eyeing the minor leaguers in the locker room, trying to determine which of them has learned whether Tyler was a bitter Pill to swallow.Later

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I predict that tomorrow at 7 AM, he'll be the Morning-After Pill.
