Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 So, is this happening tomorrow or it expires tomorrowand it could happen over the weekend?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Joel Sherman's cred is on the line!Well, half on the line. Shields is still hovering out there and Joelmon said Shields' availability was what was holding up any Geetrading.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 WAHH, we were promised that Gee would be traded for a superstar by this point.Lied to again!!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Matt Harvey and deGrom are Tommy John survivors so maybe you want to keep all these pitchers.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 They can't afford him, pay attention
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I thought we still had 0-1 day for this to go down.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Yup, tomorrow (Friday) is Trade Gee By Today Day.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Woo-hoodle! I won't be able to sleep!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 This is sorta 1990 all over. They had six starters then, and Cashen spent all offseason trying to move one, but couldn't find his price. They went through spring not knowing every day if someone would be dealt off, while Johnson delayed a decision about who would be demoted to the bullpen. Unfortunately sticking with his never-rewarded faith in Aguilera, he decided to open the season with Darling in the pen, promising that he would get starts as the season progressed, and Ojeda spent some time in the pen.You might'v figured that someone would get injured and it would sort itself out. But nobody did, and Ojeda and Darling alternated a month in and and a month out of the rotation. Both were miserable, unable to find a groove, and feeling their careers slipping away a little earlier than they may have expected. Both had their worst seasons as Mets, with Ojeda openly admitting to drinking hard and driving his bike all night (hopefully not at the same time).I have no problem if they keep Gee and use him as the alternative starter. Redundancy is great, but they're not exactly flying blind without him, having the number 10 prospect in all of baseball waiting in the wings with 26 AAA starts already under his belt, and Montero and possibly Gorski or Mazzoni before you get to him. There's even talk about opening the season with Montero in the MLB bullpen, ready to step in and start as needed. They may trade Gee and they made trade Gee for future, rather than present, assets (and therefore cheaper ones), but they clearly want to move a pitcher because a number-six pitcher who could be number-three on another team is a luxury that's worth more to that other team than to the Mets.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Guy from MLB.com says its' imminent.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 The only Gee news on Rotoworld is from the middle of Janwhen they regurgitated the Joel trade story and the Adamavoiding-arbitration story.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 You are a mean spirited person KC
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Lol, and you're The Golden Child!
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 So with Shields landing in San Diego, do we re-start the Dillon Gee trade clock now? Is a surplus Washington starter now the new James Shields? Will Dillon Gee ever be traded? Does anyone want Dillon Gee on their team anyway? Does all this trade talk hurt Dillon Gee's feelings? Was Dillon Gee's chin merkin the worst facial hair in the history of the franchise?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 We may need Gee when Niese's arm falls off.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Marc Carig, Newday, tweets: Unless an opportunity presents itself (injury in another camp), the Mets won't be pursuing a trade for one of their pitchers.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Well two such arms are better than one, no?
