But do you have anything a little more, I dunno.... colorful?[fimg=500]https://metsinpeace.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/kgrhqrhjcwe90pzq9wcbplz27jvq60_57.jpg[/fimg]Awww, that's sweet. That kid's probably about 51 years old now. What else you got?[fimg=500]https://metsinpeace.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/b6tox69ccaaninv.jpg[/fimg]WtF!!(Insane toucan photo the discovery of the ever-alert Jason Fry.)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Teams don't cover the fundamentals anymore. It's nice to see that, in the old days, they included drills that allow players to be prepared in case they're diving into second base and find that there's a toucan on the bag. (I'm not sure what I would do in that situation. Maybe I'd offer the bird some Froot Loops?)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 It's going to be a hard-to-solve mystery, not least of all because that is a road uniform. Any surviving clippings from Exotic Birds at the Park Day are likely gathering dust in some other team's pile of historical press notes.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 A little promotional crossover with Busch Gardens, perhaps.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 The pic with the bird is begging to be colorized.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 Don Bosch: One of the worst hitting outfielders in Mets history, but no one could deny the man loved his Fruit Loops.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Bosch knew he wasn't going to cut it. My favorite quote from him was when he told Don Cardwell (who came over from Pittsburgh with him for Dennis Ribant), "You're the one who's gonna make the trade look good." I think the bird was a warning that the team was planning toucan him soon.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Now I see the bird pic as an Ebay ad everywhere I go. fb wants to know if I'm still interested. ha
