I no think the Mets fancy that Monell is better than Recker, but perhaps a cheaper alternative.

The Mets proved last year with Justin Turner that they can be some cold-hearted non-tenderers, and I suspect that maybe Gorgeous George might feel some of that this year. Eric Young, too.
