Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 If that high fastball to Terdo was only 91mph then deG is deceptively fast cause that looked like 98 on a string.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Considering that there were 2 hits, 2 errors, and 2 walks in that inning, 2 runs is a nice job limiting the damage.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Key to baseball? Putting Recker in motion.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Ha. How about that. TC pulls a squeeze. 6-2, The Hair
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 That Upton guy in center is worth shit. Don't run to first. Don't even try to track down Dudas gapper with any expediency. Glad he's not on my team. He's an anchor that pulls that team dooooown. Psychologically speaking, of course.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 6-2 in the 8th. No way we give this back, right? If we do I'll be a sad panda.Keith knows his birds.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 According the BB-Ref, Bobby Abreu's full name is Bob Kelly AbreuWhat kind of name is that for a nice boy from Venezuela?Irish mother?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 7th run of the game - and Still only one via a hit (or did they gift deGrom a hit on his bunt?)

Or at least has always had bouts of being like that. The only difference now is that he's doing it AND hitting like shit at the same time.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Lucas hitting a lefty. Grrrgeous.

If I was a fan of that team I'd be all over his shit. These days, I'd probably be tossed from the stadium, lol. Did you here about that? Some fan was tossed from the stadium for heckling a player (Bryce Harper IIRC). What?! You can't heckle players now? I have a friend - that's all he goes to games for. To heckle players. Oy, I could tell you stories.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Niiiice. Recker put a good swing on that drooper.10-2 Team with Rookie Of The Year

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Sweep complete.Braves announcers, to a man, seem convinced that Jenrry Mejia is just filling in for Bobby Parnell and will return to the Mets' rotation next year. Really? Also, they all seem disgusted that he celebrates his saves.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 A wonderful game. That may be it in '14 for deGrom but he was deLightful and deLovely (how about that old reference?).

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 This was the card they used during the '69 playoff talk, and that was a trip to see. In November, SNY ran a bunch of deGrom starts in deference to the forthcoming ROY announcement. I taped a couple of them, including this one, a portion of which I watched early this morning (as is my wont) -- and I was DEE-lighted to see Zvon's handiwork show up on the TV and listen to Gary and Keith kvell over it.I was at the Giants (football) game that day so I had never seen it on air. Belated congratulations. Looked great.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Thank you sir. That was a trip and a credit to Googles search engine. Seriously, Google is great at getting your tags circulated. It's the best part about using their blog format.
