Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Our pitchers really have to stop trying to get Chase Utley up in potential game blowing-up situations.... and now we're in another one of these none-on/2-out ---->>>> potential danger situations.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Rubern & EYJ making a case for getting their jobs back.Good for them, competition can be a wonderful thing!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Five innings and one run for the pen. I'll takey.

Heep and Brooks turned out to be heroes in extra innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Oh, and btw: Fuck Chase Utley and the glove flip he rode in on.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Went out on the porch and switched to radio in the bottom of the ninth. Nice to get some sun and a comeback win for a change.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 An Amazin Mets Miracle Mothers Day win...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Flores was too sick to play. Explains why Granderson and d'Arnaud were sent up to pinch-hit over him.Duda needs to stop kissing everybody.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Best of times, worst of times. All was set up for a superfun day at the park but I missed a whole inning waiting for fries and then the Lunchpail got a bellyache and we bailed in the 7th inning, but got home in time to watch the end on TV.Really the fries thing pissed me off beyond belief. No fries are worth waiting 10 minutes for, especially if you paid $7.50 for them and the employees are just standing there taking orders making no apologies or warnings. I was really ready to burn the stadium down. I know the Mets are all about hospitality in lieu of being about winning baseball, so when they fail the first task it's really a big fuckup.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Gary and Ron had an inning long conversation about fans waiting on line for an inning (or more) at Shakey Shacky.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 The thing is, at Shake Shack, I see a long line and am prepared to deal: Service is actually quite quick given the crowd, and getting on that line I know what I'm in for at any rate. Pat LaFrieda's had almost no line to speak of, just a bunch of pissed off suckers waiting to get what they paid all that money for. Really poor service, and the kind that CitiField officials would assure us we don;t get there. Yes we fucking do.

Yes we fucking do.Citi Field officials can talk all they want, they take the money from Aramark and ignore it I suspect. (Or Danny Meyer in this case? or is there an affiliation? who knows) I now have a Shake Shack on the route to work and 10 minutes from home so I no longer worry about it. Also Shake Shack has better visuals to the TVs to see what's going on while you wait. Anyway, I was driving all pissed off about this game and it was going to the 9th down 3 after Valverde pissed away another run and I was sitting in South Jersey in traffic about 75-90 minutes from home after driving all day. So I almost preferred the tie game to the win in the 9th because they got me just about all the way home. I don't know if you guys have been listening but one of the promos Josh and Howie have to read is about some silly Wendy's sandwich in extra innings and they were both getting a little loopy and talking about the cheese and the aioli. So when they're talking about the win Josh drops a "And this time it was a Rueben!" line or something that make me snicker.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Sandberg and Papelbon are going at it over this loss.Interesting to see this thread diverting into a Shake Shack conversation, in light of Sandberg's alleged food poisoning.
