Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I'm encouraged with the HRs though, and once/if d'Arnaud starts hitting them and C. Young comes back I think we'll be able to score some more regularly. Also, we should trade for Gregorius and make him the leadoff hitter
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 David Wright not really doing great yet, so expect that to regress upward. It'd be nice if either Eric Young or d'Arnaud became not-sinkholes soon though.

I'd still like to to talk to some mathematicians and climatologists to find out what happened to dArnaud's shot yesterday. He absolutely punished that ball.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I was sure that was gone too.Sometimes batters hit those with a top-spin that makes the ball dive downward rather than with backspin that tends to keep them aloft longer. d'Arnaud has a record of decent power in the minors so I don't mean to imply this will be an ongoing problem although some players keep that trait their whole careers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Yeah, I mentioned in the game thread. It was a high pitch that he kind of tomahawked, so it may have taken a topspin dive at the end.
