Earlier this week, Sweeny Murti was on the WFAN mid day show with his MFY report. He said that the MFYS have a surplus of catchers and are still trying to get a third baseman to back up/ platoon with Kelly Johnson. To do that, they might deal Francisco Cervelli. Evan Roberts said that Cervelli might be a good fit for the Mets, if he (shudder) should have to play in case TDA gets hurt.

That said, I predct my kid Zach will be traded to the MFYs for Cervelli at the end of Spring Training.
He will look around YS III and it will remind him the minor league bandboxes in which he's succeeded. He'll think ,"This won't be too hard".
He will become the full time third baseman by August and will (I hate to say this) lead them to the playoffs, hitting .257-14-36 down the stretch.

Lutzy will get a few appearances here and there, but more time at the slot machines than the Shake Shack.

.280/.340/.410 3 HR, 6 BB, 7 K.

No shot at a job until someone gets hurt; of course, someone always gets hurt.

33 PAs, 5 hits including a ground-rule double. Becomes free agent after the season, signs minor league deal with the Orioles.

Oh, ye of little faith.

37 PAs, and two ground-rule doubles.

Cervelli is a Meathead who was born for the Yankees.

Radio hosts and middle schoolers love to talk about Met/Yankee trades. Those are the rosters they know.

That said, Lutz is the kind kind of guy who gets dealt for a roster filler like a backup catcher, and Cervelli has good OBP skills.

No ground rule doubles but he will hit a homer that will need to be reviewed.

The Memories of Zach Lutz thread will get more action than
he does on the Mets, and everyone will be hard pressed to
post in it.

They have collected a bunch of players with cool baseball
names though.
