Honestly if the Mets believe in MDD's bat he's got to be the center fielder and Lagares the one they should dangle on the trade market.

Crazy talk. If he becomes a Rey-Rey in center I'll have something different to say. I think he can be a .280, 20 HR kinda guy. Some stolen bases in there- just when really needed. Okay, I wish for that.

I like the notion of keeping Laggy and dD around together and maybe building a Dykstra/Wilson leadoff-hitting-centerfield-platoon-corner-outfield-sub-defensive-replacement machine. A machine!

I love the idea of this. Another wish. Worth wishing though. denD could become a good hitter. Do I waste a wish on that? The rules say you only get three. Harvey coming back better would be #2. I'm gonna keep my third wish in my hip pocket for awhile and allow denD to impress me.

I don't really have a personal horse in this race: I'm skeptical that MdD can really cut down on the whiffs and hit like he did in the minors but if he does that's a nice thing to have. Lagares is an unbelieveably huge asset as a flychaser but I'm every bit as iffy on his bat and a little worried about the injuries and the lack of progress in his game already.

I'm skeptical too. It's why I want both.

Of course, I wanted both Davis and Duda, too, and while the team got a more or less positive outcome out of that redundancy, it's yet to be seen whether it is so positive to have been worth the wait.

To not know about a guy by 27 or 28 makes him a suspect... Not much ceiling left to be a contributing member of an MLB championship team.

Den Dekker.. Niuwie will not be core MLB players...

It's important to discover who will be MLB players of any stripe, not just "core" players, which is an intentionally ambiguous term.

"Impact" is about as meaningful as "core." Maybe less-so.

I want better players, too. Right now, the baseline is Eric Young. Using Nieuwenhuis and den Dekker as an alternative is only sensible. You can't keep quitting on people. Your team gets worse, not better.

You eventually DO give up on marginal players if you want to get better... We have had four years of AAAA's...is that your final answer?

It's like you have a bromance on these guys..

What exactly is your alternative, Regis?

It's like you have a bromance on these guys..

No, it's exactly not like that.

And for the love of all that's decent, sentences end in one period, not two.

Sorry, no. What alternative are you proposing? It's an easy enough question. You say something, and people respond. That's not stirring up shit. That's expecting people to be accountable, is it not?
