If he becomes a Rey-Rey in center I'll have something different to say. I think he can be a .280, 20 HR kinda guy. Some stolen bases in there- just when really needed. Okay, I wish for that. Harvey coming back better would be #2. I'm gonna keep my third wish in my hip pocket for awhile and allow denD to impress me.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 DenDen is turning 28......I've had enough....

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 They're all turning 28, man. Except them that done it already.Isn't life awful?

Lagares is an unbelieveably huge asset as a flychaser but I'm every bit as iffy on his bat and a little worried about the injuries and the lack of progress in his game already.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I'm skeptical too. It's why I want both.Of course, I wanted both Davis and Duda, too, and while the team got a more or less positive outcome out of that redundancy, it's yet to be seen whether it is so positive to have been worth the wait.

Not much ceiling left to be a contributing member of an MLB championship team.Den Dekker.. Niuwie will not be core MLB players...
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 But no reason to assume Lagares will not be.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 It's important to discover who will be MLB players of any stripe, not just "core" players, which is an intentionally ambiguous term.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Core is an everyday impact player..we need more..
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 "Impact" is about as meaningful as "core." Maybe less-so.I want better players, too. Right now, the baseline is Eric Young. Using Nieuwenhuis and den Dekker as an alternative is only sensible. You can't keep quitting on people. Your team gets worse, not better.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) You eventually DO give up on marginal players if you want to get better... We have had four years of AAAA's...is that your final answer? It's like you have a bromance on these guys.. Edited August 20, 2014 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 What exactly is your alternative, Regis? It's like you have a bromance on these guys..No, it's exactly not like that. And for the love of all that's decent, sentences end in one period, not two.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 You are doing nothing but stirring up shit..look elsewhere..
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Sorry, no. What alternative are you proposing? It's an easy enough question. You say something, and people respond. That's not stirring up shit. That's expecting people to be accountable, is it not?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Really? Was the bromance crack an attempt at kindness?
