Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Eric Young, Jr. trying to nail down the team's fourth stolen-base title, and the first by somebody not named "Reyes." Colorado gets a share in whatever glory reflects on the franchise. Rival Jean Segura is expected to return to the team today, but whether he'll feel up to stealing is an open question. I imagine if he gets a shot, he'll go for it. He's got all winter for the hammy to heal.EYJ and Eric Young, Sr. would be the first father/son stolen base champs in... ever, I think.Aaron Harang appears for the Mets in what is likely to be his last start for the team. Be sure and wish him well. Milwaukee counters with top prospect Jimmy Nelson, making his first start after two relief appearances.David Wright appears likely to sit after jamming his thumb.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 I'm thinking that three pitches up at the batters' helmets is enough.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 MIght not have done what they did if it hadn't been for Mays. Consummate teammate apparently.Very little contact with old teammates. Talked to Koosman a couple of times. Talked to "Stork Theodore" a couple of times.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 Stolen base by Lucroy. Sad Recker breaks my heart.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 And holy crap, another Lagares assist on an offline throw.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 Young may have more luck getting the stolen base title if they bench him at the start tomorrow and use him as a pinch runner.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I was listening in my car when the opposing pitcher was walking the ballpark and just plain wild.I was getting my scream ready, because I thought Recker would walk on four pitches and Q would stupidly swing at the first pitch. I had to use my scream on Recker. What was he thinking? That was just a dumb mistake.Gotta' go. Wifey's calling.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 Recker gets himself a single through the hole. Only the fourth hit on the afternoon. Sending up Q, possibly to bunt.Betancourt bobbles and the Mets have two guys on. PINCH RUN FOR THE CATCHER!
