2 strike squeeze!! Heads up Satin.

Keith has never seen one? Do I watch more baseball than Keith?!

WOW!!! A two-strike squeeze play goes sour for 'lanta.
Could be a HUGE break if Niese can take care of the PH.
Gets Wood out of the game too.

My apologies to Mr. Niese!

I don't trust the Mets doctors. How could the Braves?

Heyward heads to the hospital for see-thru pictures.

Without Heyward out there they are doomed. Turnip with the 1 out double in the 9th.

1-1

Gah. I want to see that slide into second again. That was too close for Brave comfort.

Stage set for fkn frddy frmn to ruin my day. Terry will throw Rice out there in an effort to keep me in a good mood.

The Braves just keep rotating these pen guys who never seem to give up baserunners.
So even when they have two guys go down at the beginning of the season (O'Flaherty & Venters) a couple more just pop up in their place

Their five most commonly used guys this year are:
Kinbrel -- 0.93 WHiP
Anthony Vavaro -- 1.19
Luis Avilan -- 0.86
David Carpenter -- 1.03
Jordan Walden -- 1.06

Walden & Carpenter are new this season, and really only Kimbrel was a main cog in their pen prior to this year.

And today, with the Mets having three straight RHBs coming up, Fredi has no qualms going to his Lefty with the game on the line - and he gets away with it.

What was the beef that got Terry and Murph tossed?

Posted

Braves 1st run: 2-out/nobody on ... then the HBP and two straight two-out hits
Braves runs 2-4: 2-out/nobody on: Three straight two-out hits

Close and bad call (real time very hard to call) at first base on a fkn frddy frmn infield single.

I knew frddy would be involved in my day somehow.

And YEA! HELLZYEA MURPHY!!! Get in that umps face. I like that Muffy got vocal and animated. Terry, he was just going thru the motions.

Byrd won't lay down w/o a fight.

Step 1 -- Comebacker off Rice's glove by Freeman, scrambled for it and threw to 1B for the 3rd out ... but was called safe on a close play
Step 2 -- Burke in the game to pitch to the RH Johnson gives up HR on 1st pitch
Step 3 -- Murphy barking at 1B ump got tossed before Johnson had even reached 2nd
Step 4 -- Terry, bitching about Murphy's ejection, was looking to get tossed and finally succeeded.

The guy who brought in Greg Burke shares some of the blame for what happened.

That's tough to say. If the ump gets that call right everything changes. It was a bang bang play tho. I'm not gonna start jawin how umps suck this time, but I do wish that call went the other way. It didn't and that, for me, was the ball game. DatsAbaseball.

Mets sorta robbed themselves by only scoring only one run.

I think the key to the game, more than the failed hit and run, was Laggy failing to tag on Murphy's flyout to Terdoslavich.
