Nice play Wilma!

Not for nothing but Mejia looks like a hell of a pitcher.

He could be big.

I like Mejia's curly nest of hair. Reminds me of Melido Perez.

"So... EY... keeps his father's name alive."

His father isn't dead, Vin.

Unreal. After 55 years in southern Cal, Scully seems ignorant of Spanish, but knows a little German.

Well, he does have that long one for the last 3-4 innings.

Scully saying the Mets are as old as the Dodgers, but LaTroy Hawkins, Scott Atchison, and Marlon Byrd aren't exactly representative of what the Mets are about.

That failed --- and that's the kind word --- bunt could really end up hurting.

Yup.
We followed up 5 hits from the first 8 batters with a bunt/K then a GiDP
And we have, what, like two base-runners since?

Just passing 80 pitches. He has to be able to keep it up at least thru six. Come on Jenrry.
That was a nice pitch to K Ethier.

If they're his own notes thats kool. Him be a little slow is ok considering. I'm surprised he still works alone.
Yea, we are spoiled by our guys.

It's not the source of the notes that's the problem, it's that he needs to rely on them so much because he doesn't know enough about the other team to speak without them. Gary works with notes and stats (everyone does) but he's also just such a baseball junkie that he can deviate from them or add to them on his own. Scully obviously can't. That's what happens when you're 80-whatever and have cut back on your schedule to where you only rarely see the east teams (Scully doesn't travel anywhere east of Denver).

Scully is like Ralph a bit in that he knows the old stories better than the new ones.

Puig was kind of valdespinish there on the sac fly. Like he hit a homer. Id put one right off the tip of his nose next time up.

This would be a spot to pinch-hit doodoo if he were still alive.

Oh. I thought he still did more games. As with Ralph, I'll let them slide out of respect. But looks like Vin should cut down even more.

Not only Garys knowledge but his experiences as a Met fan. We are so fortunate to have a broadcaster who grew up right along with us and the team and its not just a job to him. Its his calling.

Is it me, or do the Doyers always seem to lead the league in relievers-wearing-shades?
