See, Zachary? Pitching five without incident or stress ain't a big thing, right?

Nice. Lagares drives in Reck with a 2 out single up the middle. Knocks Zimm outta there.

Murph drives in another with a seeing eye single to center. Hellz yea! And we got two games today? I hope the same Met team shows up tonight.

I have to say, I thought the better plan was to start Harvey in game one, get the Nats all tenderized and discouraged-like for Mejia.

Maybe it was the better plan anyhow, but I can't argue with the results.

Love getting a piece of the opponents' pen at the start of a series.

Mejia done for the day. Great job! 0 runs, 7 hits, 7 Ks.
I'm going to try to not get too excited until we see him pitch a few more times.

Where's the fun in that?!

Best second half pitcher or bust!

That put me in giddy mode.

Scott Hairston into the game. Sandy Alderson remembers out loud that the Mets went in a different direction. Raises his hand for a high five. Everybody in his box looks away and leaves him hanging.

Thats okay. Murph likes rib eye steak singles too.
6-0 Mets

5 Ribbys for Dan.

After fouling off like 75 pitches.
And that long AB will cost the Nats another reliever as Mattheus (just off the DL after, earlier in the season, adding to the stat of lockers being undefeated against knuckles) can't finish up the inning.
