Still looking for my first IGT win of the year in this last game before the break.
But all streaks must come to an end some time and today is a good time to Bas-steal a win from the first-place Pirates.

We may have been Harvey-less on Saturday but the Pirates are all out of Locke today as scheduled starter (and All-Star) Jeff Locke is sitting this one out with back spasms.
Instead, Dillon Gee will see former #1 overall draft pick Gerritt Cole as his opponent. Called up earlier this season, Cole has made six starts in his ML career - winning the first four before losing the most recent two against Oakland & Philly.
39 hits, 20 Ks, 7 BBs and 15 ER in 36.2 innings overall for Cole.

Funny being at a game at Citi Field and seeing the Mets score on the out-of-town scoreboard.

This is going well. I figured Ike would start to give him a chance to go into the break with something other than what he's been doing.
Satin shows why he's in there. Line single to right in the third.

And for the record Mets are up 3-0 mid third. Buck drove in a couple in the first? Nice.

Gee gives them a run. I hope that play on the squibbler didn't rattle him.

Gee's biggest mistake has been bunting into a strikeout, so far.

Mets have had Cole on the verge of being yanked from this game several times. But now they've hit into the last five outs on just six pitches starting with the Young GiDP to end the 4th.

Crap. I missed this "defensive gem" from Newy. Howd it look? I don't have MLBTV up cuz this is on TV. No replays on demand :(

I fired up MLBTV. Very very nice catch. That was slicing away from him.

MLBTV is at least ten seconds ahead of WPIX. This proves my theory that all this technology has put time out of sync.

It definitely was as advertised. Not bad at all for a guy with a feminine body.

Laggy slamming a Red Bull in the dugout.

Nice triBOOM Muffy. Perfect spot to hit it. Young flies home. 4-1.

Thought just occurred to me re^. I have never ever seen a player drinking coffee in the dugout.

I fixed your syntax for you.
The net effect of that play was like [u:1056f4tk]UN[/u:1056f4tk]stealing two bases.

Gee will not make it thru 7. Hes gassed. Great job today tho. Only a couple of Ks but only five hits. *salute

Nice job by Gee keeping the Buccos down while the bats were busy trying NOT to score since the three-run 1st.
Wish he had gotten just one more out though.

Nuttin' against Atchy Scratchy, but do we really want his first game back in months to be with the tying run at the plate?

But man, he struck Marte out twice, didn't he?

Gee thought so.
