Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I'm getting tired of Yahoo Contributor Network posts showing up in my Google News search results. These things look like actual news articles, but when you read them you often quickly see that they're something considerably less than that. This one is so awkwardly written in spots that I thought it must have been by someone for whom English is a second language, but it's written by a guy named Bryan from Oregon. This is my favorite line from the article:The organization is beginning to show some signs of being a proactive clubhouse both internally and externally, and the answer will be in youth on the mound and in the outhouse.Yeah! "Youth in the outhouse!" That's what the Mets need!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Overall, the Yahoo Contributor Network and Bleacher Report sports pieces are just about bottom of the barrel in web quality and evoke the blogger in pajamas in mommy's basement. That said, I came across an excellent baseball piece a few weeks ago on the Yahoo network. I can't remember the writer's name or what possessed me to link to the piece in the first place.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I think I bat higher with the listy articles of Bleacher Report. They're hitting about .200 while It sure Yahoo Contributor Network is closer to .050. Of course, BR has Rob Neyer. As a slogan, "Youth in the Outhouse!" sure beats "Catch the Energy."
