Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Recker is catching? I hope they're wearing white and he gets caught in a sudden shower.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Nice weather this afternoon. A beautiful day.PLAYBALL!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Sloppy play in the field but no one scores, and all is forgiven in the top of the first.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The ump is calling bad pitches strikes to Recker in hopes he will turn back and face him.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Everyone is a comedian now...
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Nice catch Lagares! He coulda went Hollywood there and he didn't. I like that. I like this kid.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Of course its the Cubs pitcher who drives in two to give the lil'Bears the lead.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 So other than the;- extra base they gave away on a throw back to the pitcher- the extra out they gave up on what should have been a clean pick-off- the two-RBI/two-out hit to the opposing pitcher (which never would have happened if not for the pick-off screw-up)- that Niese is up over 90 pitches through 4 innings- and the fact that the offense has no hits and just one ball out of the infield (an easy fly to short-center)... how'r they looking so far?

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 No offense Anthony. There are only two Mets looking good these days.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 The hazmat suits are to insulate them from the other Mets...
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Al Jackson wore #15? Thats weird for a pitcher. I zipped over to the database to see if he ever wore another number with the Mets. He did, 38. I thought when he left the Mets in '65 that was it. I never knew that he saw some time on the mound with the 69 Mets.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Niese leaves earlier than I had hoped. Up to 106 pitches. Niese was not a happy camper.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Zvon wrote: Niese was not a happy camper.Well then tell him not to issue back-to-back walks to start an inning, not to serve up RBIs to the pitcher, to keep his pitch count under 100 by the 6th inning and maybe he won't be gone so soon.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The Mets may be bad hitters, but at least they suck at bunting.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I see we're continuing this outs at the warning track trend of late. There have been three or four in this game and probably a dozen or more over the last week.

Recker just got caught up in his own looks.Hold the game Rice. One run. Alls we need in one. Gdamned. run.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Rice done with 2 on, 1 out. Lyon on to do his share.Ugh, that home plate ump sucks.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The Lyons share involves 3 runs allowed. 5-1. Just enough time left in this game for a tease and then a loss. Unless they don't even want to tease us today.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 This bottom of the 8th rally would be interesting ... if not for the top of the 8th clusterfuck.Cubs hit ONE ball hard in that half but kept being handed base-runners by overly generous pitchers.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Of all the times for Murphy to hit a weak ground out. Oy. Couplea rib eye steaks out there for you Captain.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 They can't even properly tease me anymore. ><
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I'd love to see what the opposing teams' scouting reports say to their pitchers: Just have every single pitcher throw a ball in the dirt every single time with two strikes because every single hitter on that team will swing at it every single time
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 WTF!? What a mess the Mets, Cubs, and umps made outta that play. And I do think Lags caught that on the fly. Thought so in real time. Jeezloufreakinwheese
