ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Ike is in...This is a real test for the Mets, the Reds are friggin good...
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I like how when Muffy leads off he hits the ball farther.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Tornados today in Oklahoma. Local forecasters predict a heavy chance of Jeremy Hefner interviews during tonight's game.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Jayzus. Ike can't hit, he can't field, and now he can't remember where to stand. Never mind the minors. Shock therapy may be indicated.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I think we would have had Votto at second (would have been damn close) even if Ike didn't stand there like a dolt, and that costs us a run.2-0
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Choo 8Izturis 6Votto 3Phillips 4Bruce 9Frazier 5Paul 7Hanigan 2Cueto 1

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Ron says that if Ike wasn't standing there Votto would not have tried for second. I dunno about that. He was cutting the bag with at least a thought of proceeding.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Gil Hodges walked out into left field to pull a guy giving the kind of effort that Davis is giving. I would love to see Ike walk back into the dugout and not come back out for the rest of the night.

His head don't seem to be in it.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Damn. Ikes snake bit. Drills a grounder that a diving red glove got in the way of.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 They're gonna score some runs on Cueto. Hold the Reds close and the Mets will get it done tonight.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Marcum looks pretty decent tonight...so maybe we can get to their bullpen and pull this one out..
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Mets have had too many of these innings where they make the opposing pitcher throw a ton of pitches and get guys all over the basepaths -- which is all well and good -- but then don't actually score any of said guys.Hopefully it'll pay off eventually but it would be nice if it were to occasionally pay off at the time.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I hope no one at the park tonight has a dinner reservation for afterward because, at the pace this game is going, they're not going anywhere for a while.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Marlon Byrd is neither fish nor fowl. But he just hit a 3-run KABOOM!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Nice lil chat with Harvey. I hope some of that kahnfidence rubs off.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Marcum hanging tough in a 1st & 2nd, none out situation. Izturis and Votto down, Phillips to go with runners having moved up a base.
