Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 How many pitches does Parnell have? He shook Buck off like 6 times there on one pitch. Annnnnnnnnd,he walks him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 That walk is a minor bit of heroism by Marte.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 If Bobby gives up a run here....whew.OK Mets, one more shot. Do your magic!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Damn, Sac. Those curves looked a lot juicier than that fastball you hacked at.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Only appropriate that it ends that way. They put three balls in play over the final two innings: the Murph 2B, the Baxter FO, and the ball-off-the-base trick. Everything else was a walk or a K

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Starting with the home half of the 6th inning:- Five of the last 17 Met batters (none of them pitchers) put the ball into play: two were hits, two flied out, and Duda's carom shot.- Three drew walks (one semi-intentional) - and the other NINE of the 17 K'dEach slot in the batting order batted twice in that sequence except for the 9-spot (once):- Seven of the nine slots K'd at least once with the clean-up slot (Ike) and 8th slot (Lagares & Valdespin) K-ing twice- only 3rd (Wright) and 7th (Baxter) didn't strike out- both pinch-hitters K'd (Turner & Valdespin)And all that was just a four inning stretch.Ain't gonna win ball games that way.And now we get to go on the road and face a tough pitching staff!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 For some reason I have more faith in them on the road against a tougher staff than at home against the Allegheneys. It's probably a good time to take Duda aside and tell him he's betting cleanup for the next month. Davis looked so bad on his last at-bat I wanted to cry. And his butt was flying out all series even on his pinch double. The notion that there are present indications that his troubles are behind him are wishful thinking.
