Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 A Phillie phan phriend just wrote to ask me who called the September 21 game and specifically the Piazza homer, and I'm drawing a blank. He sent me a link, but I'm blocked at work.I don't watch and SNY and so I haven't seen it 100 times as I imagine some of you have. I think remember about 60 seconds of booth silence to soak it all in and then Fran Healy coming on, but who was on play-by-play calling the homer as it happened?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 It was Howie on Fox Sports New York with ... Healey?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 I thought I remember Howie, and I was going to answer that, but as an out-of-towner, I can scarcely recall his tenure as a Mets TV guy.Just seems so counter-intuitive to me that I didn't trust my own answer.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I could watch that twice a day for the rest of my life, and I'd still get a catch in my throat every single time.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I like to see it too because the first time he hit it I was jumping in the aisles of the Upper Deck and landed on an empty beer container and tumbled onto the seats, so I didn't know if he missed 3rd base.
