it was an elegant miss.

Really, the outfielder probably should have been positioned deeper. Especially him.

I want him to have a big year. We need him too. So I'll swallow this along with that if I have to. But youre killin me Lucas.

A good shave might cut ten years off that face. Might. I am becoming a fan of the ol' man.

Jim Wolf punching out Recker with a strangely late (and questionable) call.

A ball. Sometimes you can and should whine and get tossed. Sometimes its worth it. Gotta pick your spots. As a catcher I think Recker was wise to....JWA.

Oh, sure and a borderline big leaguer at that.

I don't think he should be arguing that call (though it was a ball). The rules are clear that you have no right to protest, but I think that the lateness of the call is something Terry might want to ask Wolfa bout.

Hawkins is the guy I should be calling "old man". That's amazing tho, 40 and can still bring it 90mph+. I'm gonna call him "the fast old man".

Did Tejada get a neighborhood call on that DP, there?

Really cool to stay away from Stanton.

Here's hoping the Fish don't have enough pen to get six more outs cleanly.

If so it was so fluid I didn't even notice.

Man, some heartrending empty seats in the background.

That sort of stuff tends to become more likely when the game passes the three-hour mark and it's still in the 7th inning.

Are the Mets wearing decal numbers on their backs instead of sew-ons?

Is that a funny? Course not.

Do you remember when they used square plastic stickers for the NY on the batting helmet (like the ones on giveways in the 70s) and you could see it was a cheap decal/sticker? Late 70s I'm thinkin. Horrible.
