I'd stake the family ranch on under.

I'd take the over. He won 20 games for a bad team and now he pitches for a very good team.

PLUS plus, he's likely to get a few extra 7ths and 8ths and 9ths out on the mound, without the pitcher's-spot mid-game PHing dilemma.

Barring weird-ass injury, he should be able to pitch significantly worse than last season, and still come out of it with 15-16 wins.

Staking the family ranch on a 38-year-old pitcher seems like a bad bet on any day.

I'll take the Ike Davis bet.

He'll also be pitching to fewer pitchers and pitching around fewer 8 hitters.

MINUS minus: astroturf.

Does he gain anything by pitching half his games in a domed environment?

Dome also counteracts the Magnus Effect because it shuts out the humidity. But the lack of grass & soil is the biggie. Grass & soil attract a lot of moisture. Moisture does strange things to the flight of a baseball and knucklers rely on it.

Compare the Grass/Artificial splits of your favorite knucklers; They all invariably have worse S/BB splits on astroturf. E.g. Niekro's was negligible: 1.86/1.80, Wakefield's horrible: 1.89/1.43. The reason stems from the fact that when their knuckleball stops moving they are forced to start nibbling the corners of the plate. Also that pitch Dickey throws that starts off outside the strikezone and creeps-in will be a BB over astroturf more often.
