Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I think he'll appear in 65 games, with a 3.90 ERA. He'll win at least one Schaefer Mets Relief Pitcher of the Month award.
Guest vtmet Guests Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I just hope that they don't pigeonhole Edgin into being just a LOOGY...I know that it's the wrong decade and the wrong manager, but IMO, a duo setup/closer split role between Edgin/Parnell in a similar manner to how Davey used Orosco/McDowell could be worth trying...If it's mostly a LH'd part of the lineup due up in the 8th, use Edgin in that role on a given day...and if it's mostly a LH'd part of the lineup due up in the 9th, then save Edgin for the 9th with using Parnell in the 8th...by the way, surprisingly Parnell had better splits vs LH'd batters last season...However, with the way that Collins/Warthen/Mets work, Edgin will probably be like Feliciano/Byrdak and pitch 70+ games with only about 50 innings pitched (virtually all vs Lefty batters)...Prediction: 70 appearances; 50 IP; 0.8 WHIP vs Lefties; 1.3 WHIP vs Righties;
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 62 IP (over 55 G), 3.51 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 59 K, 23 BB, 4 HR allowed... and some public embarrassment of very good hitters. Papa like.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I think he'll be a solid LHed option, in the mix for a save here and there. I like him.
