A's give up Chris Carter, Brad Peacock (a pitching prospect they received for Gio Gonzalez) and another prospect to Houston for SS Jed Lowrie and a reliever. What caught my attention about this was how Houston liked Carter because they need a DH. And how it's a now an intra-division trade.

Nah, this CC is black and righthanded. Considered a good hitting prospect.

Lowrie is one of these guys whose image is better than results so far. Losing him lowers Houston's entire payroll to something like $15 million.

This Chris Carter has the body shape of a linebacker and started to breakout last season. Surprised to see the A's bail, but they do have Michael Choice in waiting.
