Guest cooby Guests Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Sweet story of a little boy whose dog dies, and he brings him back to life. Tim Burton film with all the usual delights. Mom's dress, the dog next door, the neighbor woman's busom, etc.I'm giving it five weenies
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 As usual, great looking film but to me not a lot to enjoy beyond just looking at it. It was missing something.
Guest cooby Guests Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 There was not much plot, I agree. But looking at it was worth the difference
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I assume by "as usual," you mean "as usual with Burton." I agree. His films also have a problem figuring out how to end themselves.I think this is the film he originally did as an unreleased short feature with Disney, but somehow Paul Reubens saw it and said, "THAT'S the guy I want doing a Pee-Wee movie!" and so launched his goofy career.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Yes that what I meant, and that's exactly what happens. Movie doesn't really go anywhere.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 answer to an SAT question:Burton --> Narrative as a) Hippopotamus --> Balletthe movie's alright. Both NIGHTMARE BEFORE XMAS and CORPSE BRIDE were better, and i didn't love those either.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Pee-Wee is still my favorite film of his. And that's a film that he couldn't end either.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 i don't think i've done a filmography on Burton.Hmm....ok here it is:viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19045
