Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Hijinx ensue when young reporters investigate reputed time traveler in rural Washington state.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Just out of curiosity, what part of rural Washington State?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Hmmm, it wasn't really rural but Coastal; there were beaches and stuff, sort of a homey rustic summer resort town like a Northwest Bethany Beach or something.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I liked this a lot. Aubrey Plaza was excellent, and the ending surprised me in spite of myself. Jake Johnson is really good as well.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 If it was near the Olympic National Park, that's D-Dad's neck of the woods (literally).OE - I looked it up and it was filmed in Ocean Shores, which is a bit south of where D-Dad grew up.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I liked it. I found the idea of such a well-staffed weekly rag to be unrealistic, but got over it. I liked the dual/triple/quadruple time-travel thing they had going on between the lecherous writer, his pursuit of the old flame and the encouragement of the young dorky kid up against the manchild and sexy intern with their hangups on the past. Aubrey Plaza's got the best peepers since Susanna Hoffs, I think.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Well-staffed? How about the expense account?
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Excellent film; quirky without going overboard.I gave it a Nebula vote.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Saw this recently. I liked the acting of the leads. The side story of the manchild seemed more of an interruption to the main story and could've done without it. The end where the manchild is cheering and clapping while everyone else looks on is TV movie cornball-dumb. Other than that I liked it.
