Just out of curiosity, what part of rural Washington State?

Hmmm, it wasn't really rural but Coastal; there were beaches and stuff, sort of a homey rustic summer resort town like a Northwest Bethany Beach or something.

I liked this a lot. Aubrey Plaza was excellent, and the ending surprised me in spite of myself. Jake Johnson is really good as well.

If it was near the Olympic National Park, that's D-Dad's neck of the woods (literally).

OE - I looked it up and it was filmed in Ocean Shores, which is a bit south of where D-Dad grew up.

Still digesting. I mostly approve.

The unapologetic out-loud manchild writer seems to be quite the stock character these dayz.

I liked it. I found the idea of such a well-staffed weekly rag to be unrealistic, but got over it. I liked the dual/triple/quadruple time-travel thing they had going on between the lecherous writer, his pursuit of the old flame and the encouragement of the young dorky kid up against the manchild and sexy intern with their hangups on the past. Aubrey Plaza's got the best peepers since Susanna Hoffs, I think.

The movie title works in a double/triple/quadruple way too.

Saw this recently. I liked the acting of the leads. The side story of the manchild seemed more of an interruption to the main story and could've done without it. The end where the manchild is cheering and clapping while everyone else looks on is TV movie cornball-dumb. Other than that I liked it.
