Yeah y'know Bud, these games aren't long enough, why not first allow the network to delay the game on account of the football running long and then add in a mandatory ceremony in the 7th inning just to stretch things out a bit.

It was Dick Young who used to call him that, claiming that Howard found only positive things to say about the NFL while he was part of the MNF package and only found negative things in the league after he was no longer on that beat.

Prince had a bad series, Cabrera had a (mostly) bad series, Verlander had a bad series (bad game anyway), Peralta had a bad series.
Tough to win when your big guns come up short.

Just part of the legacy of the Crypt Keeper--you wouldn't want kids or people that have to get up early to see the end of the World Series, would you?

The Tigers swept the Yanks, then got swept by not even the best team in the NL this year.
I'm going to have a lot of fun with this when I see the MFY fans in my office.
And, I'm happy for Marco.
As for Angel Pagan, he probably doesn't know there isn't another game today. He always was weak on his knowledge of baseball stuff. But I'm happy for him, too.

Throughout the Series I was impressed by Bruce Bochy. He'll stick with a relief pitcher who's throwing well, even though "the book" suggests making a change. Several times in the series, he stuck with a reliever, even though an opposite side hitter was up.

I honestly thought at the time that Ramon Ramirez would more than make up for the difference between Pagan and Torres. That's a mistake I hope to learn from. And I hope Alderson learns from it too.

The interesting thing about Bochy is that when Wilson was healthy, he used Sergio Romo largely as a situational righty. And if you look at Romo's splits (a .482 career OPS against left-handed batters), that was just nuts. Still, at least Bochy deserves some credit for adapting.

I didn't like the trade, but I understood it. In retrospect, I don't think I make it. Alderson talked about how we got pitching quantity but not quality in 2011, and this trade was trading a higher quality player for a higher quantity of players not as good. (or at least, not as valuable.)

It's all a wash now, as Torres is the only player of the three even remotely under team control. Unless you think, and I would lean this way, that Pagan will not accept a $13 million one year offer and then you get a draft pick for him.

Apparently this was only the second time where two teams with orange as one of the colors in their uniform met in the World Series. Trivia: when was the first time?

Autumn of 69 to be precise, but close enough.

The Yomiuri Giants are one win away from making a third championship team named "The Giants" this year.

What a truly wonderful awful production. Love the Dodger slam that comes late.

Son of a gun, something Gigantic happened again. Or as they say in Japan...

Many people likely enjoyed the pleasures of baseball to the full as they watched a series of close games worthy of deciding the nation's best team.

This winning trend for Giants should probably be seen as a warning sign to that Jack guy that he's about to get his ass kicked back down the beanstalk.
