USA going down. They miss Wright more than the Mets missed Dillon Gee last year.

Walk, great at bat by Mauer....bases loaded for Stanton.

Reynolds by the way is great in the booth.

Not at all, I have always liked him.......4-3 now as Cabrera walks in a run.......

This is thrilling

Down to three outs, down by one.

I agree, he reminds me of Mex, he's analyzing each pitch the way another major league hitter would.

I like Reynolds, too... as a guy, and a guy explaining the mechanics of defense/hitting. When he's evaluating players and their abilities-- then he's woefully, willfully ill-informed.

Stanton's at-bat was a disappointment. Looked off-balance... like he was being dictated to, rather than having an actual plate approach. A guy like Braun or Wright-- or, frankly, Jeter-- spoils pitches there until he gets one he can do something with.

Hell of a catch by Rollins on the bloop in the ninth, BTW.

Tomorrow or the next day, can we discuss why Puerto Rico has
it's own team?

Dying

And really, is this such a huge upset like they are trying to paint it?, some good players over there.

Mitch Williams saying it's no coincidence that the USA are out since Wright went down.

Mitch Williams says a lot of things.

That said, Wright would have likely been up with the bases loaded there instead of Stanton.

Not only would Wright have been up, but he would've been up against the pitcher he hit the walk-off hit against in the 2009 classic.

Maybe that's what rubs me the wrong way about him. I'm not as invested in the hitting/specifics of a player since it's not really my team so I wasn't paying as much attention to that. Just half-paying attention and hearing him say zany things.

Way better than Verducci yesterday though, so much appreciated.

Maybe the team from Vlissingen, New Netherland should tap into this heretofore undervalued Dutch baseball talent.

Wish they had shown these games on MLB.tv so I could've watched them. I would've even been willing to pay a little extra.
