Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) This has to be the un-clutch-est defense I've ever seen. All year they've been doing this shit. Edited July 30, 2012 by Guest
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Good. Lord.Posey wasn't even breaking. AT ALL. Davis could have hung back and played that ball even with the bag. He could have stayed where he was, at the first-base cutout. He could have waited, gotten in front of it, let it hit him in the chest, then scooped it up and been able to throw home if necessary.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 And yet another infield hit that could have been turned but wasn't.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Of course it's Scutaro, who couldn't start the DP and had the ball go off his glove during the Mets rally. In his first game as a Giant. Any other karmic indicators going against the Mets here?

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Edgin with the big balls there. How about getting a lead that not even Acosta can blow?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Team effort both ways here.Still, Terry, you shouldna pulled Rauchie.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Y'know, it's bad enough to cling to strict notions about who has to pitch the 8th inning and who has to pitch the 9th - but it's even worse to reserve the 9th inning for someone who has never shown the slightest hint of earning that kind of respect. And then to just hand it to him following a 7-pitch 1-2-3 8th inning where no PH was needed ...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Thank god Hairston showed up tonight.Lord knows that the rest of the middle of the lineup hasn't.We're back to having a Hairy good time again.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Mike F*cking Baxter.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I'll give Bay this, he's a good base runner.I was screaming 'Stay at 2nd!' on Baxter's hit.oe - and that base just created a runNow we just need 3 or 4 more to make this Acosta-proof
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Can't anybody here play this game?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Tejada's another one who's had a tough night.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Angry Bruce Bochy is fun to watch. From a safe distance.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Of course he walks the leadoff batter.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Nice that the pr assignment in the last inning got Posey out of the game.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Getting Cabrera is big, but Acosta doesn't seem to appreciate the gift that is Eli Whiteside in Posey's spot.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Ah yes, the old 'retire the all-star but walk the chumps' strategy.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 OK, two out. They can't blow a potential game-ending DP. At least not in this inning.
