Can ya go against the pitch count just once?

I'm not sure that the second game after sending a mainstay of your thin rotation to TJ surgery may be that time.

The move to Byrdak was as much to go lefty/lefty with CarGo and Helton as it was about the pitch count me thinks.

Almost didn't work but it was nice to see a liner hit AT Duda for once instead of him hitting someone else's glove.

Byrdak versus Tulo gave me nervous. But hey, whatever works.

Only one Rox base-runner since the 4th inning ... but I'd still like to see about a half-dozen runs before they get one more whack at it.

I'm pretty sure taking Gee to 116 was going against the pitch count.

Byrdak, of course, was munny.

Bax joins the hit parade, just as I'm about to say that I'd rather see Valdy in that spot.

Enormous sac situation here. Nieuwenhuis might as well not bring his nutsack to the plate at all.

Baxter has not sucked.

Wrong again! Go, Terry!

Baxter = doubles machine

Tough to argue about what Byrdak's done so far.
Only 4 hits in nearly 7 innings of work including 2 for 8 (now 9) vs RHBs

Radio listeners, trust me-- you don't want to be the guy using the gym free weights after Edgemer Escalona. Dude is straining the shoulders of his uni shirt.

He scored, so goody. But I've said it before, and I'll say it again: what's wrong with squeezing the runner in there? Terry will bunt the runner over 2-3 times a game, but nary a bunt to get a fucking run IN.

Although it's not like Ruben distinguished himself last time he bunted.

If Terry had bunted with Kirk there I may have had to jump a flight to Denver just to have a word with him.

Funny, if I'm gonna bunt, that's where I do it.

Nah. Pulling the ball had the same effect and it almost became a double.
I'm with LWFS, if I'm going to bunt in that inning it's with Tejada up, a runner on 3rd, 1 out and a 2-run cushion already in your back pocket.

I watched this game the only way I am able to soak in a weekend WPIX tilt, by driving 200 miles downstate to my parents' house, and then soaking up a lot of cream soda that may have also contained vodka while watching a satisfying Mets victory.

Sadly, my folks are moving to God's waiting room, AKA Florida, in June and this trick will not likely work for me again, ever. Having said that, inspiring Mets win.

on the other hand, you'll have a place to stay to go to Spring Training..

I watched most of it at Strawberry's nerding out with a bunch of other bloggers. much fun.
