Starting outfield of Harris, Evans, and Pridie. The whole starting outfield appears to be done for the season, huh? (Duda and Pagan are both officially through, and Bay doesn't seem to be getting over whatever his illness is.)

Schwinden gives up a lead-off double small-balled into a run.

second inning he makes an error with two outs, stolen base and a single drives him home.

1 out so far in the third.

Jason Pridie --- finding his shit for the first time in about 11 weeks, with his second triple in as many games.

Maybe he needs to start to hit.

Gary too.

Schwinden missed that it was ball four.

Gary: "Well he doesn't tell anyone else when it's a ball, why should he tell Schwinden?"

"He's called probably 10000 walks in his career, that was Schwinden's first. give him a break!"

Heisey makes a great grab to stop David Wright from extending the Mets' lead.

But um, we tried to go deeper into the pen and came up empty.

Screw you, Byrdak.

You're supposed to get Votto and Bruce out, not give up hits. Getting these lefties is the [crossout:3q2zzgtc]exact[/crossout:3q2zzgtc] only thing we pay you for.

I think the primary failure there is Terry's. The secondary one is Byrdak's.

Meanwhile, Jose sometimes runs faster than he thinks.

Well, um, I guess Jose re-took the lead in the batting race with that double at least. Braun is sitting tonight.

Harris leads off the ninth with a double and is the tying run.

Will Wright get his first career sacrifice bunt?

Wright on with a vicious HbP. Terry trying to bunt with Evans here.

And it's an out at third. You're welcome, Redlegs.

Game over. Communists win.

Ugh. Bunting and pulling pitchers while they're doing perfectly well. A textbook over-managing demonstraton.

Reasons to be uncheerful, part three.

1) Heisey's double whammy of robbing Wright of an XBH and RBI then coming back and hitting the 3R HR on the first pitch he sees from Stinson

2) NYM double whammy of making base-outs in the 8th: Reyes (stupid) and Tejada (worth the gamble but still a killer)

3) BiFL !!!!!!

4) Terry pulling a guy pitching his ass off, in favor of the lefty-lefty matchup in the seventh with one out and nobody on. How did it come to this?
