Not sure what they're arguing about - Bay never came close.

Bay: "I must've accidentally flopped over the plate somewhere during the five second the catcher was fumbling with the baseball right?"

Terrible slide by Bay. This guy could fuck up a glass of water.

"Gosh. I sure am sorry about that spill-- that chair kinda came out of nowhere, didn't it?"

[Laughs nervously, coughs]

"Yeah, so... I'm still going to have to charge you. That'll be $37."

In the beer voting, I took a lot of pointage away from Bay for not touching home plate. Bay could have been called safe merely on interference, as Buck isn't allowed to block the plate without the ball in his possession, but his slide wasn't even close enough to the baseline to be interfered with.

I guess it's an interpretation..he slid along the baseline and .. I dunno, tripped on himself and rolled away.

Then shouldn't Tejada get something for turning a tie game into a Met win on a play that most second basemen don't make?

Wright sure did. I didn't see Tejada's play.

Wright's play was the tougher stop, Tejada's had the tougher throw.
And, yeah, the game is definitely tied up if Tejada doesn't make his play. Not so with Wright's although we would have been in deep doo-doo.

He was behind-- 10-15 feet?-- and past the keystone, heading toward left, then planted and gunned out a surprisingly fast Stanton.

OE: See here.

Acosta has the best ERA of any of the Met relievers who pitched tonight?
I have some box scores to catch up on.
Has he been that effective latesly?
