Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Dickey vs. Marquis. Once again, thanks to the shitdicks at Verizon/FIOS, I will be tuning in on my phone using the MLB Gameday app.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 It's a family night at Nationals Park, section 115, BB.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Yunesky Maya gets for the start for Washington instead of Jason Marquis who is now a Diamondback. Maya started Gee's MLB debut (when Second Splitter and I were in attendance).
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Davey Johnson's nightmare (besides acid reflux and Gene Walter flashbacks):Jose Reyes, ss Justin Turner, 2b Daniel Murphy, 1b David Wright, 3b Angel Pagan, cf Jason Bay, lf Lucas Duda, rf Josh Thole, c R.A. Dickey, rhp
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Davey Johnson: "Hey Marquis, it's time to warm up .... the plane that's taking you to Arizona that is."Between this trade and the Hairston trade (all for minor leaguers) Nats fans better hope that there's someone close by to replace those guys. Oddly (because he was playing fairly well) OFer Roger Bernadina was the guy sent down to make room for the incoming Johnny Gomes but he can't come back until 10 days are up.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Davey Johnson suddenly looks really, really old.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2011 Author Posted July 30, 2011 I thought that last night.Wayne Hagin blows.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 So do all these DPs.Let's go and make a game of this NOW!!!!

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 And that's that. Willie Harris strikes out with the bases loaded to end things.Feh
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Disappointing to go out so easily to Maya in the first three innings. Even if they just made him work a little harder for those nine outs he'd have tired earlier and we could have hit the soft part of the bullpen and at least trimmed the lead before Storen threatened to shit the bed.But when we did start hitting the DPs sucked all the life out and, in the end, I guess you could say that the difference in the game was that Werth's 2-out/2-on shot went out but Reyes's fell about 10 feet short (although they really hit us better the whole game).
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 The Pagan DP really killed it for me.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Disaster of a game. It didn't help that I was waiting outside the ballpark for my friends to arrive and bring me my ticket until the top of the sixth.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 That can be a wet blanket on any game.It looked on review like they were one break away. How often does a guy get plunked twice in a game. I think Josh Thole has a new act.Is there some colossal screwup by Wright I haven't seen yet? He seems like a PotG, but he's not getting much pointage in that thrad.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Yeah, maybe sometimes a batter in a slump gets too caught up in his own issues to see the big picture. Such at-bats really hurt Hudgens' case for MVP.
