Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Your predictions not your hopes: The odds that Beltran is a Met on August 1st?I'll run this poll thru Tuesday
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I put it at 11, which might be a bit high. I doubt he's getting traded much before 8/1 based on Alderson's comments. The Mets dropped the ball by playing wishy washy baseball since the break though, Braves were only 4-3. If the Braves continue to play around .500 or so in a slumpy week or so, and the Mets can somehow manage to go say 7-2 or something maybe he says. Not sure that's an 11% thing, but I suppose there's a small chance Alderson doesn't really like any of the packages offered and decides to keep him. or Tim Hudson's collides with Tommy Hanson and they're both out for the season.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Problem with betting what they odds are instead of betting against the odds is that we'll all be right.I went for the second tier: 20% to 40%. Don't know why.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Depends on if Sandy can get anything worthwhile for him. It makes no sense to trade him if you're not getting anyone who can't be on the 25-man roster in 2012.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I went less than 10. I think it's all but a foregone conclusion that he's gone. Just the 'to where' and 'for whom' to sort out. And I'll say Braves, too, hopefully for Minor.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I put the odds the same that we'll win every game until 8/1 which is the only way to stop it!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Less than 10%. If someone is offering prospects, we should grab them up. However, if the only offer is cash...I'd be less inclined.I'm having a change of heart on offering him a short-term contract as a free agent, though. $15 million for 2 years?

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Less than 10%. Giants or Phillies.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Wishing for Brandon Belt, Domonic Brown, Mike Minor or Josh Reddick.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Them's is high hopes. Brown et. al. would be a tricky pull even IF he came with draft picks attached. If you want that level of talent for Beltran alone, it'll have to be an A-A+ level guy, minors-wise, or someone who's had a disappointing year. As much as he's a top-flight hitter, he's not a top-flight RESOURCE. (Went 11-25 myself.) /Looks over dead Palomino for unbruised spots to kick
