Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Going meekly would be more palatable with Keith in the booth. The boredom of going meekly actually brings out the crazy in Keith.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Out of order? This whole court is out of order!LETS GO METS!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 The Mets may be pussies, but hello Kitty!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 The Pirates have Overbay, we have UnderBay.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Well, yeah, Gary, the bullpen has to do better. But the Mets aren't winning anything with the offense scoring 2 runs a game.Nice knowin' ya, O'Connor.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Somebody who wrote the KTE said Overbay was washed up...really?just kidding
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 The Pirates have had 22 (and counting) base-runners (versus 12 outs) just in the 7th, 8th, & 9th innings of yesterday's game and today's.Met batters have had no base-runners and gotten just two balls out of the infield over that same span.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 for the second straight inning the Pirates bat around - Cohen....fuck skae

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Ojeda saying Mets have some guy who mostly care about their stats. Seeing as how very few of them have stats worth caring about, I can't imagine who he means.

Turner hitting a home run in a lost cause? Did he have a whole spiel about lack of power planned and didn't want to use it in light of the homer? Beato? Clearly he started pitching well enough for outs just after he ran out of inherited runners to score?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 If you're going to be "gutsy" and spew stuff like that you really ought to have some specifics as to who and how. If not you're just blowing smoke. The problem (IMO) isn't stat hunting it's that they're not very good right now. The hitting stinks, they're missing their #1, #3, and #5 bats, the FA LF can't get the ball out of the infield, and the previously good bullpen can't get ME out right now.

My argument was play good defense (like they were doing) and hit better with RISP (just asking league average here, nothing fancy) and they'd be able to hang on to a couple of wins until the big bats come back to help. But if they're not going to do that.. Will be nice to see Reyes again.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 went with my son to the game tonight, on a school trip. - got double charged at one food kiosk, and short changed at another. I guess Fred has them under orders to get the cash in by any means necessary;- we sat in the "Pepsi Porch"... which means i couldn't see McCutcheon's diving catch in CF. Looked good on the replay, though. Thanks for those great sightlines, Fred!- Bucs bat around twice, with nary a real hit hidden amongst the onslaught... wow, do we suck. But my son wants to stay because "we might score 7 in the 9th." Gotta love it, right?- on the way out, my son asks if Jason Bay is our new Shawn Green. "Indeed," i reply. He wanted to know why Willie Harris wasn't Shawn Green. "Because he's too busy being Shawn Gilbert"- on the bright side, the lack of crowd made getting out of the parking lot and onto the GCP a snap.new slogan: 75 wins or bust!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 In case nobody here has heard yet, Lucas Duda had two dingers and a double for Buffalo tonight.(and two walks)If Davis is going to be sidelined for an extended period of time, I'd like to see Duda brought up to play first, Turner (and Murphy) at third, Tejada (or Turner) at second and Harris playing wherever guys who have been DFA'd play.Later
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Davis doesn't need to be sidelined for any of that to happen.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I mean Harris relieved of his duties. But it's looking like Wright returns before Davis right now.
