Spoiler alert: I have been to the future and know how this one ends. An eighteen-run victory for the Mets, featuring fighting, ejections, and post-game tears and backstabbing in the Phillie clubhouse. Book it.

Hope you got back in time to put down a wager. Meanwhile, Beltran delivers a 405 foot fly out to right center field. He might miss New York, but he won't miss Citi Field.

Don't say I didn't give you a chance to get in on the action.

Hey, my crappy desktop computer, crappy ISP, and crappy mlb.com subscription have conspired to deliver me the SNY broadcast.

Gary's calling Wright's PT a tedious process. I'm going through PT and I love it.

At least somebody in the Mets organization can hit a slam:

BuffaloBisons
GRAND SLAM! Valentino Pascucci belts the slam to put #Bisons up 5-3 in 5th.

A Reyes triple is a thing of beauty. Too bad Bill Webb sux so much that he won't let us see Jose joyously slide into third, instead showing us Thole trot toward the dugout.

When was the Mets' last three-triple game for any one player?

Doug Flynn, August 5, 1980 -- and no, I didn't have to look it up.

Yes, Flynn is the one and only - something many normal Met fans can recite.
It's when you come to the specific date where the true geeks separate themselves.

Congrats on the steals down 9-1 Rollins. You must be so proud, especially since you had to play today when Howard, Ruiz and Utley got the day off.

The Mets lost that one 11-5. Flynn grounded into a DP to end it and insisted it was his hardest hit ball of the day.

A lot of slumps busting today. Let's get Nick Evans a taste of this.

Yes! Put him in at 3B, move Tejada to SS, Turner to 2B and give Jose an inning off.

Americans of a certain generation will always remember where they were on August 5, 1980.

Ultrapleasant day at the ballpark with MeeMaw and the Littl'un. But for moments of agita in the middle and the end, and a bittersweet rerun of Saturday's three-minute midgame tribute to Gary Carter, t'was all smiles.

Y'know, but for the 40 percent of the crowd wearing red. I figured on an uptick, but... Jaysis.
