Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 He threw out the first pitch tonight, and did a nice job. Call me crazy, but I didn't find it essential to announce to the entire crowd how his father was killed. I would've been OK with him announced as "Mets fan for life" rather than "Child of firefighter killed at WTC."
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Well, you can work that in without underscoring death."Lifelong Met fan, son oof September 11th hero Brian Cannizzaro, and named in honor or a 1962 Met, please welcome Chris (Chris, Chris) Cannizzaro (Zaro, Zaro)!!"
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 What I'm guessing you did not see on TV was Little Chris bouncing his pitch right in front of the plate and Freakin' Josh 'Stone Hands' Thole, letting the ball go right through his legs!!!I'm serious. Thole got a passed ball on the ceremonial first pitch that he couldn't handle from a 10 year-old.
