Anthony, how would you describe your... CAHNfidence?

This would actually make a nice cable show: Confidence Now, with Fran Healy.

Here's an easy quiz: Try and guess what Healy's first three questions to AY were in that post-game interview. You should come up with the same answers to tihis quiz whether you play this one straight or for laughs.

Duels of a sort here:

103: 1985 -- Tom's 300th vs. Doc's 11th straight
104: 1983 -- Mookie's speed vs. a ground ball (with Torrez vs. DeLeon)
105: 1995 -- Izzy's promise vs. Nomo's hype

Also:

103: 2000 -- Bobby Jones with an unforeseen Greatest Moment
104: 1985 -- Darryl strikes thrice before the players strike for two days
105: 2001 -- Turk looks strange, Robin looks great

1) What were thinking?

2) What's it been like for you?

3) It had to have been a boost to your confidence, no?

How does Fran Healy lose his job interviewing the Anthony Youngs of the world and end up exclusively interviewing Hall of Famers? Where do I sign up for the falling-upward plan?

"1) What were [you] thinking?" ----- "What was on your mind when ....?" is what Healy actually asked, but your answer's good enough for game credit.

2) What's it been like for you? ----- Another correct answer though Healy actually asked: "What did it feel like.....?"

3) It had to have been a boost to your confidence, no? ----- Does it even fucking matter what Healy's third question was? You win this quiz. You know Fran Healy.

My first three questions:

1) You're wearing Tim Foli's number. You've gotta wonder how you're ever going to win jack in 19, right?

2) Look at that swoosh on your shirt. Are you a Met or Pepsi representative? Good God!

3) Is Dallas Green taking this team anywhere or is he just a placeholder? What have you heard about Bobby Valentine?

D-Dad and I were at that one - it was the second game of our first road trip.

Most of the Expos fans had left with one out in the 9th, and even more were gone with two out. So after the game, we were going down the ramps, in a foreign country, with a huge cohort of Mets fans yelling, "We're Number One!" and "Let's Go Mets!" It was amazin'!

I'm gonna go out on a real thin limb and guess that there's gonna be a heavy dose of 1969 and 1973 in the upcoming installments. But what an amazin', amazin' series this is. You must realize that with all the back-story and exposition you provide in the game recounts, you're essentially giving Mets fans a thorough, if not complete, history of the franchise, but without having to re-live any of the Mets' frustrating and heartbreaking losses. Sometimes, life can be a box of chocolates where you know you're gonna get a delicious piece.

If I wasn't a Mets fan, I'd hate to be the fact-checker for this project when it gets published. (It will get published. Right?)

Much appreciated, batmags. You limb-going won't send you for a fall, but there are some other seasons with highlights to come.

142: 2007 -- Pedro Martinez goes five, tips cap
143: 1990 -- Darryl Strawberry goes deep, tips cap
144: 1995 -- Post-Strike Mets go to eleven, tip caps

142: 2009 -- Another Damn Thing won in Philly
143: 2001 -- A surge extended in Miami
144: 1969 -- Two 1-0 wins, two RBIs from pitchers...nah, too unbelievable

Every gosh darn one of these games qualifies as Amazin', Amazin', Amazin', et al...

145: 1986 -- Just before panic sets in, Mets clinch their division
146: 1976 -- Quite possibly the only comparison anyone has ever made between Walter Mondale and Jerry Koosman
147: 1997 -- Carl Everett and Bernard Gilkey highlight perhaps the most exciting four-game series Shea ever hosted

Also...

145: 2000 -- When the Mets knew how to quit collapsing
146: 1984 -- Young Doctor K and yet another milestone for the ages
147: 1969 -- Carlton strikes out 19 Mets...did he win?
