2011 season to date: 1 game; 1 GS situation; 1 GS served up so far
Add that to the full dozen the staff served up last season while the bats were remarkably contributing none.
Then go back to the final GS of the 2009 season which also went to the opposition as Justin Maxwell hit a walk-off GS off Frankie Rod in the final road game of the year.

So that's a streak of [u:15yi3mxu]at least[/u:15yi3mxu] 14 straight slams that have gone against the Mets.

They did manage to hit 4 in 2009 (against 5 served up) so it's probably not much longer than that but I didn't have an easy way of digging up when the last NYM GS was.

From a tweet last night .....the Mets have allowed 17 grand slams since they last hit one on 08/01/09 , Pagan hit it.

That was the answer I was after as I knew it had to be at least 14.
Probably only Elias can find the answer to what the ML "record" actually is for this rather arcane pice of trivia - but at this point we might as well go for 20.

I could be wrong, but I have August 1, 2009 as the last Metly grand slam (Pagan vs. Diamondbacks at Seaver Stadium).

You could be right, even if a little late.
Grimm already won the Cadillac El Dorado for answering first here.
Irish wins second prize which is a set of steak knives.
You know what third prize is? Third prize means you're fired.

The good news is that, faced with two separate bases-loaded situations last night, NYM pitchers didn't give up grand slams in either one of them.
Niese in the 1st -- result = 2-run single
and Rodriguez in the 9th -- bases-loaded pop-out

Not that I plan on tracking this on a day-by-day basis, but last season Met pitchers served up salamis just over 6% of the time they set themselves up for one: 12 out of 197
It only seemed like 40%

So as if the 17 in a row isn't bad enough, a quick check shows that 12 of the last 18 GS the Mets have given up have come with 2 outs.

And btw - as if we didn't already think/know that Mets broadcasters lurked here - Howie brought this up on air on Sunday I think. Somebody was up with the bases juiced (Thole maybe) and Howie and 'the other guy' began to talk about the streak.

And Gary brought it up when Wright had the bases full........12 GS given up with 2 outs must be some sort of record.I hope the Mets hit one tonight so it doesn't become a "thing".
