Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 First game on the schedule today is Houston at Philadelphia, at 1:05 p.m. As I look out my window, big fat snowflakes are falling, and the forecast is not promising, so this game may not be played. If it's postponed, the next game up is Pittsburgh at Chicago at 2:20.At 3:05, White Sox at Cleveland.4:05: Boston at Texas.4:10: Arizona at Colorado.Plus, six more games, including Mets at Miami, will be played tonight.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Mets at Miami looking like 82 and beautiful.....here in Westchester it's like as BG described....big wet sloppy snowflakes....miserable
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 Astros-Phillies not postponed, at least not yet, and should be underway soon.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Halladay plowed through the Astros in order in the first two innings. I give him at least a 35% chance of throwing a no-hitter today (yes, the Astros are that bad).

(Apparently the Phillies fans groaned at this in the third inning?)Next inning a leadoff single, advances on a hit and run to second, and there are two hard hit balls for outs. meanwhile, the Phillies offense goes quietly.Myers has thrown 36 pitches through 4. (57 for Halladay)

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 1-0 'stros.Myers 58 pitches through 6. victorino draws an odd walk and promptly gets erased CS.Halladay over 100 through 6, he's done. faces the loss.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Two on, nobody out in the seventh, too. (GameDay 2011 is nifty-looking.)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Halladay was pinch hit for by Pete Orr (remember him?), who spent all of last year (and most of 2008 and 2009) in AAA for Washington.I can't say I like the Phils chances so far.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Big two-run triple for Michael Bourn, plus a sac fly to follow and it's 4-0 Astros.Guess that pitching staff isn't so great if there isn't also a 'pen and offense to back it up.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Good lord, the Pirate announcers are going on about how this is the best lineup we've had in a long time. I wonder how many Opening Days they've sung a similar song.Well, if not now, when?
