Seen that one often enough that I could probably recite the entire script.

I remember posting the final quote from the movie right after the D'Backs knocked off the Yanx in 2001

"For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting."

This is a movie I'd like to see again. (Only saw it once, many years ago.) It's a long movie, though. I think the next time I sit down and watch a long movie, it'll be Lawrence of Arabia.

Story regarding my uncle who just passed away: We were over my uncle's house one afternoon, and a commercial for Patton was on TV. I knew that my uncle did not like talking about his experiences in World War II, but I was curious to know what he thought of the movie. Was it historically accurate? did they really get things right?

When I asked Uncle Art, he said that he never saw it. That he no interest in seeing it. I was curious. Why hadn't he ever watched it?

"I hated the SOB when he was alive, I'm not about to watch a movie about him"
