There's also tremendous value in his ability to sit pensively in uniform in front of the Great Wall of Steinbrenner. Plus his ability to lie in public and get it turned into a virtue.

I frankly don't know how they're going to afford him.

He is just positioning his feet so that he can make those spectacular jump-throws to first.

Funny, on a weekend when I enjoyed a Jets win, a Mets win, a few re-viewings of "Kicking and Screaming" ('95 version, sans Will Farrell), and a giggly apple-picking outing with LWYP, the deepest, most throat-ripping laughs I had were on Saturday while flipping on the MFY-Boston game while driving, and listening to a mopey Sterling-Waldman mope.
