G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 I swear Howie just paused to think of what the name of Sun Life Stadium is this week.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 That first half-inning could not have taken more than 120 seconds.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Okay. We are here rooting for Pelfrey to get another win and for the Mets to hit a grand slam. There are things left to root for folks. What else should we be rooting for now so close to the end of this oh so disappointing season?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Damn you Mike Stanton!Nice catch you bastage.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 Watch out 1919 Giants and Phillies!]
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 Wayne Hagin notes Miami Vice was one of his favorite shows of the '80s.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 First three innings took a shade over 40 minutes. 1919 Giants and Phillies appear safe. But they didn't have commercial breaks.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Mets going for the kinda loss where the ratio of hits to runs is obscene.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Mets have 10 hits and only one run to show for it in the middle of the 6th.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 So far a fine outing by Big Pelf.A shame if it goes to waste.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I think I'd do the Hillside Honda girl.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Wright should have fielded that grounder that went past him for a double. And with two outs and a man on 3rd Wright muffs a grounder to his left and the Fish take the lead. Oy.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 This stadium sucks more than Stade Olympique.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 A grounder goes right through Reyes legs. This is now officially both funny and disgusting.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 David costs us a run, David knocks in a run. Ka-Boom!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Dave ties it up again. He will have to do more to make me forgive him though.I'm a tough fan.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 That's another thing to root for. Wright driving in 100.He needs five. That would be sweet.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Pelfrey is off the hook and outta the game.I personally wanted to see him go one more. Why not try and get him that win?Are we playing to not lose that one game that will knock us out of the wildcard?Paaalease.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Oh....Just....Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dessens has nobody to blame for this bullshit but himself.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 2 out nobody on, but a right AB so Jerry brings in the righty and the game is over. Jerry once again proves that he is an idiot. Feliciano looked good and it's Elmer Dessens in the BP but he has to go by the book. Jerry can't be fired soon enough.I'm not absolving Dessens who should be released after the season ends but he shouldn't have been in the game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Although I could see Jerry getting roasted for leaving in Pedro to face the RH hitting Hanley when a poke would beat you.My point being not to rescue Jerry so much but at some point the players have to be blamed too - in this case it's ANOTHER 2-out/none-on situation turned into a game-killer. I noted the other night that 8 of the 12 Slams this year came with 2 outs and also that I noticed a ton of 3R HRs that came w/2 outs too. It's like even in the game that they could win the team manages to take 3 or 4 key situations and muck up the entire game with them.Tonight's line shows:- 2 straight errors- 5 base-runners erased- 2-out/none-on into 3 opponent runs

This was a classic case of overmanagement.I hat Jerry.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Ugh, Gary cements my feeling that this season went south ever since the Puerto Rico series. I remember saying in one of those IGTs that I hope I don't have to look back on that series as the beginning of the end. But it was.Another nice pitching performance wasted.
