Add Bobby Parnell to the list of Mets that has been "shut down" since September came.

(Jerry will so confused the next time the Mets have a lead in the 8th inning).

Bobby Parnell is being shut down for the remainder of the season with an elbow issue.

Twelve more games for Jerry.

This I find sad too, I want him to go sure but there is such a finality for the man. How would I react in my job I wonder if everyone knew that in two weeks I would be fired, it's out there just not official yet. Manuel has been with the Mets now what 4/5 years?

As mentioned on tonight's telecast, Parnell is claiming he's NOT done for the season, that this is nothing more than minor stiffness which the MRI confirmed. He claims to feel better already and wants to have a few more outings.
Whether that actually happens remains to be seen.

Prevention & Recovery claims another victim.

They've already damaged most of the team's most expensive parts. I'm starting to think that there's almost nothing to lose in taking the Costanza Opposite Plan approach. Post signs that say "Ride 'Em Hard, and Put 'Em Away Wet... and Strained" and "Walk it Off, Pussy," and have the trainers openly bait borderline-hurt players.

'Cause, y'know, they've been working so hard at the Prevention & Recovery thing, that there's no way that they're just shitty at taking care of and managing player health... or insincere, and focused on lip-service response to organization-wide problems, right?

Can it be demonstrated that they've had more arm injuries --- or lost more games to injuries --- than most teams?

With racehorses, they towel them down after they've been riddden.
Putting them away wet would be treating them like a bunch of nags.

Don't mind me. I'm just spitting stupid, stupid vinegar, because I can just barely remember what fine wine tastes like.

Sadly, as Mets fan it seems that we may never again know what champagne tastes like.
