Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 For the sweep. It's a good thing that my hotel has wifi so I can keep these IGT's up right through my vacation, if necessary. And it will be necessary because the Mets are winning all the rest of their games.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Three games @ Mets, no starts for Milledge.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 7:20 start, impressive given the hours preceding and the gullywashers in the area.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 A 1-2-3 first inning for Pelf.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 This guy Morton is a real wild child.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I was trying to get home at Met-rush hour and learned the hard way that 7 trains were suspended in both directions. Couldn't help attendance tonite.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Gorgeous catch/double play by Angel Pagan!
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Followed by an RBI triple. 2-0 Pirates.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Pelfrey drives in Duda to give th.e Mets a 3-2 lead in the 6th.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Pelfrey, out of the game after 7 innings, gave Jerry a hug in the dugout. They seem to have made up (but, as far as I can tell, not kissed).

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 And then, in looking for an insurance run... he bats his second-best overall hitter. When Jerry finally does bite it, I will relish that day like one relishes leaving a toxic relationship or terrible job.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Good takeaway from the second half: Josh Thole looks like he can hack it up here.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Good takeaway from the second half: Josh Thole looks like he can hack it up here.[/quote:3bd718de]Dude always looks like he's got a plan up there. He gives me that comforting, chamomile kind of feeling in my belly.Also... the defense is borderline GOOD this year. (Especially the arm.)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 The thing is that it's no surpise Thole's numbers fell under the daily grind of playing regularly. He'd have his bad games at the plate along the way, but while playing every day, he never fell into a deep dark slump (cough! Barajas!). Next year looks good for him.I think Blanco comes back too, with Nickeas on hold at AAA.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Man, the Pirate infielders have justmissed a ton of balls this week - and that's in addition to the ones they've just plain booted. Not surprising that you see that sort of stuff from a last place club.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Howie and Wayne verbally beating the piss out of the 2010 Pirates in general and John Russell in particular.Guys --- terrible road play, overstrategizing manager, stubbornly sticking to a losing system ---- where was this when Jerry had it coming?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 The New York Lottery kitten commercial is killing me.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Where's my favorite broom dealer?
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Yay, we swept the Pirates ... woo hoo
