I can't disagree. Maybe the Mets last gasp and they needed Pelfrey to come up big. Imagine how well the Mets would be doing if Pelfrey sustained the brilliance he had earlier in the year.

- that Pelfrey seemingly pitched around everyone EXCEPT the guy with multiple XBHs off him,
- that he then hit the next dude
- or that the Braves were forced by injury to bring in their third best LHP and the heart of our lineup has two broken-bat infield outs and two pop fouls off him

The irony is that Reyes made another good error. It's a good error because Pelfrey doesn't give up unearned runs. So the strategy is for Reyes to make an error with Pelf on the mound because the error is supposed to guarantee that the runner'll be stranded on base. And if he scores, it's Jerry's fault. Get it?
