I don't know what they did during the All-Star Break, but they shouldn't ever do it again.[/quote:at75aqd8]

Eh, this lousy run is only a continuation of the stinkyness that began in the San Juan series before the break.

Asked to name the top five homerun hitting Mets, Grace just guessed "former Diamondbacks manager, Wally Backman." Hard to say what the sarcasm content was.[/quote:1mkvltqz]

lol.
Either 100% or someone hit him with an idiot stick.

Yeah, Thole's pretty extraneous.

Asspats for Anhell.

Signs of life.

Then one big dammit. 6 LOB.

Well, we have a nice object lesson on why Thole is on this team, one inning after a nice object lesson on why Barajas maybe shouldn't be.

They have this real annoying technique in the D-Backs broadcast where, a moment after somebody hits the ball, a production assistant kicks up the volume slider on the crowd noise.

I dunno. That after view did show that holding the runner at third there was probably smart, but I think down 5 runs you try to force an error, have them have to make that throw and get you.
But I will defer to Chip.

Nieve in.

Should be some nasty Ks, and about 2-3 HRs, in store.

Blaine Boyer's on the D-Bags now? Between Gibson and the influx of Brave taint, this team continues to get less sympathetic.

I send that runner if a lesser batter is up - not with Beltran though.

Looked like a dead duck to me.

Beltran's been starting to smack it, too. That popup was unfortunate... but surprising.

I hear ya.
That's why Chip's the coach, not me.
But we have to start making things happen somehow, someway. The team needs to get pumped up.

Since the start of the Puerto Rico series, assuming that they lose tonight, the Mets are 6-12. During that time frame, they've lost the first game of each series (0-6).

Thanks, everybody! You've been great!

Let's make Joel Youngblood manager.

Above I noted that the Mets are 0-6 in the first game of their last 6 series. Does that fall on the manager for not preparing the team or is it just a coincidence?

Hey metirish, please post the gif of Ralph Cifaretto -- I know you save it for special occasions, but this game deserves it.

Probably a relationship, but not a cause-effect one.

I'm gonna stick it out.
Cause I can watch it.
I got the MLB.TV fathers day deal, a month for 5 bucks,
and it's such a joy to see every "gang".
(^^).

As a matter of fact now that I have it I can't see ever being without it.
So they got me.

I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon enough and I'll feel I can walk away from a game like this one.

Cripes, even Wright has left the building

Now if we went and got Reynolds, he could come in for Wright now and smack 3 homers and get us back in this.
