What's difficult is listening to Wayne and Howie. They seem completely unable to analyze what a pitcher is doing. They stand up and say he's not doing something correctly, but the only difference they can see between then and now is the results, so they otherwise yammer on and on about pitch count.

Meanwhile Ron Darling is breaking it down so finely that I think it's actually going over my head.

Valdez gives you your bunt.

And Luis flips BML the bird.

With one hand.

And Valdez gives you your bunt.[/quote:widy3hqg]

'Cause when you're down 6 runs after 2, that first run is pretty fucking crucial, in esse.

Knock Castillo all you want - but that's exactly the type of AB they HAVEN'T been getting as they score 1 or 2 runs per game ... not to mention the part about how he makes fewer outs than any of the other middle IFers.

Gary hates the bunt here even tho with most pitchers up it would be the only thing to do.
Valdes batting .571.

Castillo did get some good bat on that ball.

If only there were four outs per inning, Castillo scores, maybe.

(Plus, you could sac bunt thrice!)

Jerry got it on good authority from Wee Willie that the runner carries over to the next inning. Pagan's sac bunt would've given the Mets a runner on third for Wright to lead off with.

What's the deal with Gary Cohen carrying on for like the third game in a row about how Frenchy might not adjust to his substitute out fielding role? Is Gary suggesting that if true, this factor should weigh in favor of Pagan instead of Frenchy being the 4th outfielder?

Radio on here, too. Seconded. Hard.

And now Wayne's on into Arizona storytime. Faaaaantastic.

They carry on about some strange minutia when the team is losing.

Gary should worry about the eight starters. (They're all hitting like Jeff.)

To tell you the truth, I don't knock Castillo nearly as much as everyone else. If his diminished output this season is due to an injury that's resolved, I can tolerate him. But not the sac bunting.

ESPN studios getting ready for Baseball Tonight....
Dark gray suit, light blue tie. Why do you ask?."

Had 'em on in the phones on the run in the rain. I was blaming Wayne for the entire first inning. He admonished Pelf for letting Young run on him early them pities how distracted he was by it for the next 40 minutes.

Seriously, Pelfrey sucked but even if he's good a guy's gonna lose if the SS ain't making the plays.

The good news is I think we're gonna score some soon.

Just reading through this IGT, I think my decision to go for a pre-game bike ride was an act of genius. And to think, if I'd waited 30 seconds streak my undefeated IGT streak would have been still in tact.

So what's the timetable for Ollie's return?

I'd pitch around Bay too, with two outs and Barajas backing him.

I don't know what they did during the All-Star Break, but they shouldn't ever do it again.

Edge, I was makin that Bobby V caption thing while you were resurrecting that Jerry Watch thread. Wacky stuff.
That really should go there.

Oh dear, but a trashy woman celebrating her husband catching foul just pulled up her shirt.

Way to chase junk there, Rod.

Y'ever notice how, with Wayne, when it's the other team up, 1st and 2nd with two out is a "threat"... but if the Mets have two on, two out it's nothing doing?

I mean, Pelfrey looked like he was in a daze, and in a kind of tired shock. He was lumbering on his own feet.
Could it be the heat out there?

I've don't think Howie is doing much better.

I've turned them off to listen to Mark Grace play Quarters in the 'Zona booth.

Asked to name the top five homerun hitting Mets, Grace just guessed "former Diamondbacks manager, Wally Backman." Hard to say what the sarcasm content was.
